ATTENDANCE/MAKE-UP CLASSES
Attendance is crucial to a
student's growth, so it is very
important that students be
prepared for class and on time.
If a student is going to be
absent, please call the academy
ahead of time to guarantee
make-up lessons. Lessons can be
made up at any time during the
current school year. No refunds
will be granted for missed
classes.
PLACEMENT
Students will be placed in the
class that will be most
beneficial for them. A
combination of age and ability
will be taken into
consideration. As the student
progresses, ability is of the
utmost importance, with age
regarded second. Children grow
and advance at many different
rates; therefore, they will be
enrolled in the class level most
appropriate for their ability.
Because BBDA strives to develop
a love of dance in every
student, class placement is not
taken lightly.
DRESS CODE
The following dress code will be
strictly enforced. No street
clothes will be permitted in the
class. Baggy clothes are
unacceptable because instructors
are unable to see proper
alignment of the body. Students
not following the dress code
will be asked to observe class.
Leotards and tights are required
for all classes. Hair must be
neatly pulled back and secured
in a bun (mandatory for ballet
and points), pony tail or braid.
No jewelry is to be worn.
Ballet - Black leotard, pink
tights and pink ballet shoes.
Sheer ballet skirts may be worn
at the discretion of the
instructor.
